Michael Tinsley

Michael Tinsley earned a high school diploma from Broken Arrow High School. Tinsley earned a bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University in 2014. Tinsley's career experience includes working as an accountant.[1]

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am Michael Tinsley. I have grown up in Broken Arrow Oklahoma and now my wife and I raise 2 children here as well. I own a small tax accounting firm. Outside of tax season I enjoy spending time with my extended family, camping, and taking in live music.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

The most important issue to me is education. I have two young children and my wife is a teacher. I have watched Oklahoma's national education ranking slip over my lifetime and I believe that a strong public education system is vital to ensuring that Oklahoma has a prosperous future.I believe that access to affordable healthcare should be a fundamental right to all people. We live in the wealthiest nation on the planet; it is unconscionable that there are people who cannot afford their medication or to visit their doctor in a timely manner. I will work to ensure that Oklahomans have access to healthcare they can afford.As a tax accountant I am passionate about taxes. I would work towards a more progressive tax system that benefits the lower and middle classes. It is also my view that the way the state spends that tax revenue should be reviewed to ensure that it is being use in an appropriate manner to help all Oklahomans.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

The three big areas I am passionate about are quality education, affordable healthcare, and responsible budgeting and taxation.
