Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I am running for Congress because the people of Massachusetts' Sixth Congressional District deserve practical, accountable leadership that puts service before politics. I am a husband, father, attorney, and Army veteran who served with the 82nd Airborne Division, including a deployment to Afghanistan, before earning my law degree at Northeastern University on the GI Bill. As an attorney representing clients before the Securities and Exchange Commission, I was prohibited from trading individual stocks, and I believe members of Congress should be held to that same standard. I often describe myself as a "JFK Democrat to Common Sense Republican" because my commitment to public service, fiscal responsibility, a strong national defense, and constitutional government has never changed. My campaign is built on three priorities: Accountability, Opportunity, and Security. I want to represent every community across the North Shore and Merrimack Valley with integrity, transparency, and a focus on delivering results instead of political theater.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Leadership through service.
Service has shaped every chapter of my life. I served in the U.S. Army, predominantly in the 82nd Airborne Division, practiced law representing clients in complex SEC investigations and litigation, and am now running for Congress because I believe elected officials should lead by example. My campaign is focused on listening, building broad coalitions, and delivering results instead of contributing to Washington's partisan dysfunction.More opportunity for the North Shore and Merrimack Valley.
I want Massachusetts' Sixth Congressional District to be one of the best places in America to start a business, raise a family, and build a life - which is why my wife and I have chosen to raise our two young children here That means eliminating unnecessary barriers to economic growth, supporting small businesses, making childcare more affordable, encouraging common sense innovation in areas like artificial intelligence and advanced manufacturing, expanding clean and reliable energy, and creating more pathways for young Americans to serve their communities and develop valuable career skills.Restoring accountability in Washington.
Congress should work for the American people, not for itself. I support banning members of Congress from using public office for personal financial gain, enacting congressional term limits, strengthening transparency, and restoring Congress' constitutional responsibilities. I believe restoring trust in government begins with elected officials holding themselves to the same standards they expect from everyone else.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
I am passionate about strengthening our country's security, expanding economic opportunity, restoring accountability in government, advancing artificial intelligence responsibly, supporting veterans, modernizing our energy infrastructure, and encouraging a renewed culture of public service.

Campaign websiteJones' campaign website stated the following:ACCOUNTABILITYRestoring Trust Through Real Institutional ReformStrengthen and Modernize Disclosure StandardsUpdate financial disclosure frameworks to reflect modern asset structures, such as hedge and private equity funds. Ban the trading of individual stocks by members of Congress and their spouses. Only Exchange Traded Funds ("ETFs") and Mutual Funds should be permitted for members of Congress to trade. Make financial disclosures simple, searchable, and accessible to the public. Clarify blind trust requirements where applicable.Clarify and Tighten Post-Service Employment RestrictionsReview cooling-off periods for senior staff and members. Establish clearer guidance on lobbying disclosure. Increase enforcement consistency. Enforce Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) standards consistently and transparently.Protect and Strengthen Inspector General IndependenceTransparency in government is critical for maintaining public trust. That's why it is imperative we surge IG resources and other internal accountability systems. Standardize internal review reporting timelines to Congress. Increase resource stability for IG offices to prioritize government oversight.Reinforce Whistleblower ProtectionsExpand secure reporting channels. Ensure timely and transparent enforcement of anti-retaliation protections. Provide clear guidance on lawful disclosures.Reassert Congress's Constitutional RolePassing an annual budget. Strengthen oversight of delegated rulemaking. Set clear limits on emergency authorities. Require periodic review of long-standing authorizations.Improve Appropriations TransparencyStandardize reporting for directed spending. Improve public access to appropriations data. Increase clarity in committee-level decision processes.OPPORTUNITYOpportunity means that if you are willing to work hard, plan, and take responsibility, the system does not quietly work against you. This requires affordable living costs, open pathways to work and housing, and a government focused on removing barriers rather than creating new ones.Lower Energy Costs That Drive Everything DownEnergy drives everything. Energy isn't just a monthly utility bill. It's a cost built into almost everything you buy. Strengthen Regional Energy Reliability. Support policies and coordination that help New England secure reliable energy supply, including advocating to surge federal resources to expand critical Liquified Natural Gas infrastructure between the Marcellus Shale formation in North Eastern Pennsylvania to New England. Modernize nuclear permitting and accelerate next-generation nuclear. Expand renewable energy without pushing costs onto households. Support targeted incentives, invest in grid modernization, and prioritize affordability and reliability alongside clean energy goals.Fix Permitting and Regulatory BottlenecksA major driver of our high costs is that it is simply too difficult, slow, and expensive to build. Reduce duplicative federal review where multiple agencies are doing the same thing. Set clearer timelines for federal permitting decisions. Require transparency so projects aren't stuck indefinitely without answers. Prioritize housing-enabling infrastructure and modernization.Make Taxes Work Better for Working Families and Local InvestmentFamilies shouldn't be punished for working, saving, and raising kids in a high-cost state. Encourage investment that grows local jobs and wages. Expand childcare-related tax relief so working families keep more of what they earn. Raise and modernize the State and Local Tax ("SALT") relief in ways that reflect high-cost realities and protect households.Trade That Lowers Prices and Protects SecurityCompetition can lower prices and improve the quality of our lives, but trade policy must also protect industries tied to national security. Support open, competitive trade where it reduces costs and expands opportunity. Support legislation that targets protection for our country's supply chains. Increase oversight so trade tools are used clearly and consistently, not unpredictably.Build Pathways for Veterans and the Next Generation of Young AmericansStrengthen and expand GI Bill-Style pathways to other public service programs. Advocate for GI-Bill style pathways for those public service programs like the Peace Corps, Teach for America, Americorps, City Year, etc. Advocate for the recreation of the Civilian Conservation Corps in order to allow young Americans to improve the National Parks and infrastructure of the country. Create more structured national service and skill-building options.SECURITYSecure Borders and Restore Lawful OrderWe need a functioning immigration system that is both lawful and workable. Today it is neither. Authorize the strengthening of border enforcement with better staffing, technology, and faster adjudication. Modernize legal immigration to reduce backlogs and align with current workforce needs. Surge Administrative Law Judges to ensure that immigration cases are provided due process and judicial oversight. Support states managing federal burdens with transparency and coordination between local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.Strengthen Public Safety and Community StabilitySecurity begins and ends locally. Communities must be safe, and possess agency over their safety, without sacrificing civil rights or community trust. Support training, recruitment, and retention for law enforcement agencies. Invest in targeted violence prevention and coordinated mental health response systems. Increase transparency standards to strengthen trust between communities and their institutions. Ensure federal grant programs prioritize measurable, tangible outcomes.Harden Cybersecurity and Critical InfrastructureMassachusetts is home to hospitals, universities, biotech firms, defense contractors, and advanced manufacturing. These are all prime cyber targets. Expand support for state and local cyber defense capacity/capability. Increase information-sharing between federal and local entities. Modernize cybersecurity standards for critical infrastructure sectors. Support workforce development in cybersecurity and digital resilience. Prioritize research and investment to ensure the U.S. leads in artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies. Set clear national AI safety and transparency standards that protect Americans while maintaining U.S. leadership in innovation.Reinforce Energy and Supply Chain SecurityHomes, families, businesses, and communities are better off with lower energy costs. Reliable supply chains and good, predictable energy sources benefit everyone. Prioritize grid reliability alongside clean energy goals. Modernize infrastructure permitting tied to energy security. Strengthen domestic production of strategically important materials. Increase transparency and oversight in trade tools affecting supply chains.Maintain Strong but Disciplined National DefenseA secure domestic environment directly depends on credible deterrence abroad, clear oversight, and support for veterans transitioning to civilian life. Support a modernization of American military assets and a grand strategy that is aligned with both current and emerging threats. Reinforce Congressional oversight and restore constitutional balance in national security decisions. Avoid open-ended military commitments without clear objectives and accountability. Protect and strengthen veteran transition programs.— Micah Jones' campaign website (August 28, 2026)Note: This text is quoted verbatim from the original source.
