What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

Ensuring the proper funding of our public schools, passing fiscally responsible legislation, and creating common sense gun control reform.[2][3]

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?

I am passionate about all policies that impact my district. More specifically I care about issues that involve a level playing field for all American citizens. I believe that everyone deserves a fair chance at a quality education, obtaining a job that can provide for their family and the right to a fair trail when needed.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[3]

[the profile publisher] also asked the candidate a series of optional questions. Melissa Shusterman answered the following:

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

An elected official must be strong with their convictions, an effective leader and a leading thinker. A truly great elected official should be able to take their policy stance on an issue, create a bill addressing the problem and then convince their fellow lawmakers to pass the bill into law.[3]

What qualities do you possess that would make you a successful officeholder?

I am a hard worker who has started my own business. Through my work experiences I have created strong relationships with various unions and businesses. I am a strong leader who does what needs to be done and I am not afraid to stick up for the disenfranchised.[3]
