In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I have dedicated my life to public service. I currently serve as Chief of Staff to State Rep. Nancy Guenst, where I manage legislative priorities, oversee constituent services, and work with local governments and community organizations. I have worked on legislation, secured grant funding for municipalities, and assisted residents in accessing critical services such as healthcare, food assistance, and unemployment benefits. I previously worked in State Rep. Ben Sanchez’s office where I helped individuals navigate complex government systems to receive the support they needed.
I also serve as a Township Supervisor in Whitemarsh, where I work on local issues including zoning, parks and rec, emergency services, and open space preservation. This experience at both the state and local level has given me a strong understanding of how government can deliver real results for communities.
My path to public service was shaped by my early involvement in civic engagement. While attending American University, I became actively involved in grassroots organizing and racial justice advocacy. As Co-Chair of the Whitemarsh Democrats, I have supported Democratic candidates and organized volunteers at the local level. I also worked as a middle school teacher, including during the COVID-19 pandemic, which reinforced my belief in the importance of responsive and effective government.
I am a lifelong resident of this district, and I am running because I believe government should work for everyone.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Tackling the affordability crisis: We need to bring down the costs of housing, childcare, and utilities. We need to restore and enhance key programs, such as rental assistance and the Whole Home Repairs Program. We need to increase the minimum wage and make it easier for first time homebuyers to purchase a home.Ensuring access to quality, affordable healthcare: We need to lower prescription drug costs, expand vital state programs such as PACE and PACENET, and invest in mental health and substance abuse treatment. We must protect reproductive freedom by codifying the right to choose in state law, increasing access to IVF and family planning services, and addressing maternal health deserts.Safeguarding our democracy: We need to protect and expand voting access, such as expanding early voting and implementing same day voter registration. We must support redistricting reforms to make the process of drawing districts fair and transparent. We need to implement a gift ban and provide for stricter campaign finance laws.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Additional areas of public policy that I am passionate about include equitable funding for public schools, workers and union rights, protecting our environment, and equality and civil rights. Ensuring public transit funding, especially for SEPTA, is critical to our region.
