Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
I swear to protect the rights and freedoms of the citizens of Delaware. To that end, I will fight to guarantee the right to vote. I will support a Delaware constitutional amendment to guarantee absentee ballots, early voting, election day registration, and the restoration of voting rights to citizens who have fully severed their sentence for any crimes committed.
I will guarantee the right to marry the person you love regardless of race or gender. I will support the marriage equality constitutional amendment.
I will guarantee reproductive rights. I will support a constitutional amendment to protect a women’s right to make her own reproductive healthcare decisions without government interference.Sussex County has added over 14,000 new homes in the last five years and is ranked as one of the fastest growing county in the nation. I will work with the Delaware Department of Transportation to find ways to improve efficiencies to requests, studies, planning, and construction of infrastructure improvements in the 38th district. I will support legislation to require independent traffic impact studies of large subdivisions and a binding fix-it plan funded by developers, not taxpayers. I will support legislation for Sussex Co. to collect impact fees from developers to pay for school expansion, infrastructure improvements and funding additional police, fire, and EMS services. I will support the development of an Environmental Trust Fund.I will work to support affordable workforce housing in district 38. I will work to control energy rates by incentivizing homeowners to use renewable energy systems like solar and geothermal HVAC systems. I will work to have utility companies bury power lines to avoid power outages due to extreme weather that damages power lines. I will work to provide competitive pay for teachers, civil servants, law enforcement, firefighters and EMS personnel.
