In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I’m a single mother of three, a systems therapist, and a community member who believes our political system should serve people, not corporations, billionaires, or political insiders. My work in mental health has shown me that many of the struggles people face are not personal failures but the result of systems built around exploitation and scarcity.

I’m running for Congress because the same systems that make families struggle with housing, healthcare, and stability are the ones dominating our politics. Corporate money shapes policy, and ordinary people are left trying to survive decisions they had no role in making.

I believe democracy should be participatory and accessible. That means protecting our rights to organize, protest, and petition our government. It also means building policies that center dignity, community wellbeing, and real economic security.

My campaign is about challenging systems that concentrate power and wealth, and replacing them with ones that allow communities to thrive.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Money has too much power in our political system. When millionaires and corporations pour unlimited cash into campaigns and lobbying, ordinary people lose their voice and their power. They don’t just influence politics; they rig the economy to benefit themselves, deliberately inflating housing, healthcare, and basic goods so their investments grow while everyone else struggles to survive. I support strong campaign finance reform and policies that slash the influence of concentrated wealth, so government serves families and communities, not money parasites who profit off our hardship. We need to abolish agencies like ICE and DHS that have grown into a domestic military structure that terrorizes our families and communities. I believe these institutions were created to surveil us ALL and are using immigrants to test how much they can get away with. I support developing policies that eradicate militarized immigration enforcement and focus on humane, practical approaches that protect immigrants from trafficking and exploitation.I’m running to put power back in the hands of the people, to empower communities to understand, challenge, and collectively oversee the systems that govern our lives. Democracy isn’t just voting; it’s watching, questioning, and acting against the powers that shape our economy, our neighborhoods, and our daily lives. We need robust civic education so people know not just their rights, but how to use them, organize together, and demand transparency and accountability. Government and corporations should serve the people, and together we can make sure they do.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I’m especially passionate about economic justice, mental health, democratic participation, and immigration policy. My background in mental health has shown me how deeply policy decisions affect people’s wellbeing. Issues like housing, healthcare access, financial stress, and community safety are not isolated problems-- they are interconnected systems. I’m committed to policies that address these root causes and create conditions where families and communities can truly thrive.

What organizations or individuals have endorsed your campaign?

I’m most importantly endorsed by the community. People constantly reach out to affirm the work I’m doing: standing up against corporate power, political corruption, and systems that harm everyday families. Their support is the reason I run. I’m also proud to be endorsed by Tejano Democrats, Track AIPAC, Citizens Impeachment, Jolt Action, Progressive Voters Network, Mental Health Now, and San Antonio Unity, reflecting my commitment to economic justice, participatory democracy, progressive values, and mental health advocacy.

Campaign websiteGalindo's campaign website stated the following:Across issues, my approach is consistent: promote individual autonomy and agency, decentralize power to communities, remove profit from essential systems, and hold institutions accountable for harm. Federal policy requires extra care, because if not done well, it can shift power away from communities, have very different impacts in different areas, or be impossible for state and local governments to manage, rendering them a waste of resources.I feel confident in these views, but they are bound to evolve as I — and the world — change over time. GenocideWE SHOULD DO EVERYTHING HUMANLY POSSIBLE TO END ALL GENOCIDAL BEHAVIOR IN ALL PARTS OF THE WORLD! What is permitted against the most marginalized sets the standard for us all!    We must stop funding Israel with billions of American workers' tax dollars every year. Instead we can invest that money in a STRONGER AMERICA. Tax DollarsFirst and foremost, all taxes collected by the federal government should be spent on developing Americans' autonomy, capability, and safety.VeteransTax weapons industry to get the money to take care of veterans    Healthcare and housing for life    Free higher education for entire family, including spouse at time of active duty    Mass participatory effort for restructuring of Veterans Affairs so veterans design the system that serves them    Fully fund disability benefits and eliminate backlogEnvironmentWater is life. Protect and restore all water: creeks, rivers, aquifers, coastlines, and drinking water.    End private profit from oil, gas, and mineral extraction. These are public resources and should serve the public, not shareholders.    Invest heavily in a diversified clean energy system that is publicly accountable, resilient, and not driven by profit.     Energy should be reliable, affordable, and safe, not a speculative market.ImmigrationICE is an institution of terror. It must be dismantled in its entirety for the future of all Americans.    All ICE agents and superiors who participated in constitutional violations, family separation, abuse, disappearance, detention without due process, or psychological terror will be exposed, prosecuted, and jailed as they have proven to be a danger to society.    Expose and prosecute all human trafficking networks, especially those operating at and around the Southern border, including corrupt officials and criminal networks who profit from it.    Create a just, safe, humane, and culturally informed immigration process—especially at the Southern border—rooted in dignity, due process, and international human rights.    End U.S. economic and political interference in Central and South America that destabilizes nations' communities and forces migration in the first place.    End for-profit detention center industrial complex. Possibly prosecute all investors for funding crimes against humanity.Abortion & Reproductive CareGuarantee safe, trauma-informed, risk-aware abortion and contraceptive access.    Focus on prevention through education, healthcare access, and social support so fewer people ever need an abortion or emergency contraception.    Remove all profit from reproductive care and abortions. No one should make money from women’s reproductive health and trauma.    Make care available through local clinics and trusted community providers, not centralized government programs.    Protect health dataGun Safety and RightsI believe we can address gun violence while protecting rights of responsible gun owners and the need to protect the security of a Free State:Prevention    Community Violence Intervention programs    Keep firearms out of the hands of violent offenders, including domestic abusers, sexual predators, and others with a history of serious harm.     Promote safe firearm storage and education    Invest in root-cause, systemic prevention: liberation-based mental health models, suicide prevention, family supports, and community stabilization.    Use the government’s purchasing power to reshape the industry, incentivizing a shift away from profit-driven motives; require that any company manufacturing or supplying firearms for federal contracts operate as public-benefit entities. LGBTQ+Protect LGBTQ+ people from discrimination, violence, and hate crimes; particular oversight in housing, jobs, and schools.    Ensure the federal government does not censor or ban information about gender and sexual diversity, while keeping education developmentally appropriate, nuanced, and locally accountable—not federally imposed.    Invest heavily in ending LGBTQ+ homelessness by addressing root causes: family rejection, job discrimination, healthcare access, and housing.EducationPay teachers what they're worth $$$$$Fund mental health providers in schools.Rebuild strong, well-funded neighborhood public schools that set the standard for quality education.Highly regulated "school choice" schools so they aren't abusing our education tax dollars and providing high-quality education; ban vouchersInvest deeply in arts, music, sports, and hands-on programs that build confidence, skills, and real-life opportunity.Higher Education CostsMake public colleges and universities affordable and accessible for all students.Eliminate student loan debt to free millions of people to be able to greater participate in the economy.Hold any corporations accountable that exploited student loan debt for profit.WorkforceWork should provide dignity, stability, and safety.Strengthen labor protections and aggressively enforce anti-trafficking laws.Strengthen union rights and actively support workers who want to organize.Invest in free job training based on what communities actually need, not what corporations say is profitable.Small BusinessesPrioritize government contracts for small and locally owned businesses, not large corporations. Stop corporate subsidies, no-bid contracts, and special favors that block competition.Stop predatory corporate practices that undercut small businesses.Expand small business loans and grantsProvide shared public infrastructure and resources (supply chain access, payments, insurance, compliance support) that small businesses can use to compete with corporate class.War & MilitaryStop sending our soldiers to lifelong physical and mental harm's way for billionaire profits!End wars driven by profit and resource extraction; no taxpayer dollars funding corporate gain overseas.Maintain a strong defensive military to protect the homeland, without engaging in unnecessary foreign conflicts.Stop the Pentagon and war profiteers from stealing taxpayer money; no overpriced weapons, no bloated contracts, no profit from destruction.Prison ReformEnd for-profit prisons so taxpayer dollars aren’t funding incarceration for profit. Possibly prosecute investors for funding crimes against humanity.Cancel unjust fines, fees, and bail practices that trap people in debt and jail.Hold prosecutors, judges, and prison officials accountable for abuse of power.Invest in programs that prevent crime and support survivors of violence.Invest in programs for formerly incarcerated people.MotherhoodAmerican have the highest maternal mortality rate of all "developed" nations !!Create public-subsidized high quality prenatal, birth, and postpartum care and education, with real choice and informed consent.Provide one full year of paid parental leave to be used in first 3 years of child's life.Massively expand childcare by subsidizing care and leasing unused government buildings to trusted childcare providers for $1 per year. HomelessnessProvide safe, stable, and affordable housing to begin with! Prevent displacement! Put a stop to the ruling class hijacking our housing market.Offer full wraparound support, including mental health, substance use, and job training services. Stop criminalizing homelessness with fines, arrests, or forced sweeps.HealthcareGuarantee quality, accessible public healthcare options for all, forcing the private market to compete on quality.Remove public-subsidized profit incentives that reward higher costs, over-treatment, and denial of care.Include dental and vision care as basic healthcare.Invest in local community clinics Decentralize and protect health dataMental HealthExpand access to affordable, trauma-informed and liberation-guided mental health care for all ages.Integrate mental health professionals into schools, emergency response, and community safety programs.Support community-based programs that prevent crises and provide early intervention.CannabisLegalize growing and having cannabis.Expunge past convictions.Protect small growers from corporate takeover.AI & DataProtect water & energy systems. Overturn Citizens United.Establish citizen-led redistricting with real oversight and transparency.Invest heavily in civic education and participatory practices so people know how to use their power, not just vote and disappear.Food SystemsProtect clean soil and water from industrial contamination.Invest in localized, regional food systems that reduce dependence on monopolies and global networks; Support small and mid-scale farmers and ranchers; Support local food supply chains with food cooperatives and farmers marketsRural and Small-town CommunitiesProtect rural land and water from corporate exploitation.Expand access to healthcare, emergency services, and broadband.Support small farmers, local economies, and community-owned infrastructure.Public SafetyInvest HEAVILY in fire, EMS, and crisis response teams.
