In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I have spent the past decade ensuring safe housing for people across Maine while also serving on the Hallowell City Council. As a City Councilor I have served on multiple committees to improve housing, support economic development, advocate for equity in hiring practices, preserve the city’s outdoor and historic spaces and oversee the city’s financial responsibility to tax payers. I believe strongly that Maine should uphold its State motto and be The Way Life Should Be- with equal rights for LGBTQ people; access to reproductive and gender affirming care; funding to support our most vulnerable citizens; universal healthcare and clean farmland and water for generations to come. Over and over, I’ve been the voice for people that needed changes to improve their lives. I want to hear from the people of Manchester, West Gardiner and Hallowell to elevate their voices to be heard in Augusta. I have the experience, passion and dedication to be that.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Affordability
From housing and groceries, to childcare and heating, the gap between wages and affordability is widening. Cuts in federal funding and increases caused by tariffs and inflation are further straining Maine family budgets. More than ever, we need responsible spending and thoughtful legislation to offer relief to Mainers.Healthy Communities
Healthcare costs have sky rocketed to the benefit of insurance companies and at the expense of hospitals and us, the consumers. Cuts to medicaid, and other health coverage plans along with attacks on reproductive rights are threatening access to vital care.
Mainers deserve healthcare that is affordable and accessible in their communities.Natural Resources
Maine offers remarkable beauty, clean air and endless recreational opportunities. But these are being threatened by the impact of forever chemicals, climate change and invasive species. It’s time to take action to preserve our precious natural resources to provide safe drinking water, stable shorelines, accessible trails and strategies to maintain our natural resources for generations to come.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
We need to move towards a universal healthcare system that makes healthcare accessible and affordable to all. This must include provisions for preventative care, reproductive care and mental health services. Delayed diagnosis will always cost more on many levels beyond the elevated price tag- from higher risks to one's health, to lost wages, and significant strain on families. It's time to support hospitals, health care providers and Maine people over profits to insurance companies.
