Campaign websiteKlein's campaign website stated the following:OUR SHARED MINNESOTA PRIORITIESBuilding a Strong and Fair Economy That Works for AllToo many Minnesotans are struggling to make ends meet as the cost of everything seems to be going up—from groceries, gas, and cars to healthcare, housing and childcare—but wages aren’t keeping up. As a State Senator I’ve worked to rein in the cost of prescription drugs, cracked down on scammers, and worked to prevent property tax hikes on seniors and the middle class. As your representative from the second district, I’ll continue to crack down on corporations gouging consumers while they make record profits. I’ll work to bring back economic stability which has been undermined by chaos in Washington.Ensuring Everyone Has Access to Affordable HealthcareThrough my time as both a State Senator and a doctor, I’ve sat with families navigating impossible choices—choosing between paying the rent or filling a prescription, delaying care because of high deductibles, or driving hours just to see a doctor. In the State Senate, I’ve worked to fix these failures by passing Minnesota’s Prescription Drug Affordability Board to conduct cost reviews of prescription drug products and set payment limits. As representative for Minnesota’s second congressional district, I would fight to give Medicare the right to negotiate all drug prices in order to lower prices for everyone.I’ve also seen too many families struggle with the high cost of private insurance—especially in rural Minnesota. In the Senate I have proposed a public option to ensure everyone has access to health insurance they can afford. But I know our goal in America must be to ensure health care for all, and that a public option is only a step on that road.In a time when misinformation in Washington seriously threatens public health, I will always defend the truth about vaccines and medical science.Strengthening Minnesota’s Farmers and Rural CommunitiesAgriculture is central to Minnesota’s economy, and our farmers deserve a champion in Washington. I have worked to secure funding for soil health initiatives, farm sustainability programs, and disaster relief for farmers facing droughts and extreme weather. I support fair trade policies that open new markets for Minnesota’s agricultural products. As your Minnesota CD2 representative, I’ll fight for strong crop insurance programs, protections for family farms against corporate monopolies, and policies that keep our rural communities strong.Let’s ensure rural Minnesota has access to the same critical infrastructure that urban areas often take for granted: reliable broadband, safe roads and bridges, quality healthcare facilities, and modern schools. Let’s ensure access to affordable housing and childcare. These aren’t luxuries, they’re necessities for families, farmers, small businesses, and local economies to thrive. I backed investments in rural broadband as a Senator and in Congress, I’ll fight to make sure rural voices are heard and rural needs are met—because a stronger Minnesota starts with strong communities in every corner of our state.Protecting Reproductive Health and Freedom As a physician, I trust women to make their own health care decisions—and as a State Senator, I’ve defended that right in the face of growing political interference. I’m running for Congress because reproductive freedom is under attack nationwide, and we need leaders who will protect it. Decisions about pregnancy, contraception, and abortion belong between a woman and her doctor—not politicians or judges. I will fight to restore the protections under Roe v. Wade and ensure that every woman, in every state, has the freedom to control her own body and future.Investing in Strong Public Education for Every ChildAs a former Mendota Heights school board member and a proud parent of five children who all attended public schools, I know firsthand the transformative power of a strong public education system. I’ve seen how great teachers, safe classrooms, and well-funded schools can open doors for every child—no matter their background. As your representative from Minnesota’s 2nd district, I’ll fight to protect and strengthen our public education system so that every student has the opportunity to succeed, just like my own children did. That means fully funding our public schools, respecting our teachers and school support staff, expanding access to early learning, and increasing mental health support for students.  Investing in public education is the best thing we can do—for our kids, our economy, and our democracy.Addressing Climate Change and Protecting Our WatersAs a member of the Senate Energy Committee, I supported our commitment to use 100% clean electricity sources in Minnesota by 2040. In the Commerce committee, we passed bans on PFAS in products in our state. I know climate change is a crisis, and we have the means to address it now. We can tie this work to labor protections and a commitment to growing union jobs. I know that water is Minnesota’s most cherished resource—I will always fight to ensure it is enjoyed by future generations.Supporting Our Veterans and Active-duty MilitaryAs the father of an active duty Navy Sailor, I have worked tirelessly in the state senate to support our military veterans. I authored bills to provide free college tuition to the children of disabled veterans, and expand property tax relief for disabled veterans and their spouses. I supported the expansion of post-9/11 service bonuses. In Congress, I will honor the oath that I take with our military members to defend the Constitution, and demand that active duty military are given lawful orders. I will stand up for the health care, housing, and retirement benefits that our veterans have earned.— Matt Klein's campaign website (June 28, 2026)Note: This text is quoted verbatim from the original source. Klein's campaign website highlighted the following issues:

Education:

As a school board member in ISD 197 and the son of a special education teacher. Matt believes education is the gateway to opportunity for all Minnesotans.

Health Care:

As a physician, Matt believes all Minnesotans deserve health care, and is confident that the health care we deliver can be more efficient, more effective, and more compassionate.

Environment:

Matt is passionate about preserving Minnesota's natural resources and working to ensure our children's future includes clean water and air.

Results:

Matt's experiences on a school board, on a board of directors and in the hospital have fostered his ability to work across differences and build consensus around results. Our legislature is in need of civility and common ground. Matt will bring those values to the senate.[10]
