In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
My name is Mason Barclay, a life long resident of Warrick County. I am a 28 year old, who has been involved in our community for years. I am passionate about helping others, and being a voice for myself and my neighbors.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Southwest Indiana families are feeling the squeeze from skyrocketing utility bills, rising healthcare costs, and stagnant wages. As a lifelong resident who has worked in District 75 my whole life, I’m focused on practical, common-sense solutions that lower everyday costs and protect local working families over big corporate bottom lines. For too long, partisan political games and corporate special interests in Indianapolis have taken priority over the real needs of our local communities. I am running a people-powered, grassroots campaign to restore balance, transparency, and true accountability to state government so our statehouse actually answers to regular Hoosiers. Our public schools are the backbone of Warrick, Pike, and Gibson counties, yet millions of tax dollars are being funneled away into private school voucher programs. I will fight to keep public tax dollars in public classrooms, support our teachers and staff, and ensure every child in Southwest Indiana receives a high-quality education regardless of their zip code.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
I am deeply committed to protecting our local communities, starting with stopping top-down mandates like Senate Bill 1 that slash municipal budgets and drain critical funding from our roads, first responders, and public services. I am equally passionate about fully funding public education to ensure our schools stay strong, expanding access to affordable, quality healthcare for working families, and protecting our environment and local natural resources. Southwest Indiana deserves a leader who puts neighborhood priorities ahead of Statehouse politics.
