Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

Local mom, small business owner, engineer with lived experience working in manufacturing, homeless services, and building housing. Hablo Espanol y Italiano. Community leader supporting our schools. Tireless advocate for those in need with a pragmatic approach to problem solving. Having led teams of hundreds of people and managed substantial budgets both in the private and non profit sector, Mary knows how the relationship world works. She's not a career politician she's a motivated citizen looking to drive results in our citizen legislature. We need WA to have a bright future for all generations and Mary will work to ensure that everyday.

- Manageable cost of living to support community members and families

- Transportation to match the advanced and modern city and state that Seattle and WA are - whether ferries, buses, or trainsEnsuring our state and region's future:

- As a scientist and engineer, using data and science to mitigate Climate change is a must. Incentivize green building, public transit, minimal carbon footprint in all actions we take at the state level. Citizens drive our future, not large corporations.

- Governing transparently to bring our citizens along w/ us and problem solve as communities versus behind closed doors in Olympia

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Education, Science, Healthcare, Housing, and driving creative community-led problem solving that works for everyone

Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?

Michelle Obama, Patty Murray, Taylor Swift - women getting things done with bringing their communities with them are hard to beat and what I would seek to bring to this role as well.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Honesty, respect, courage, energy

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

To advocate with integrity and determination to do good for the most people

What legacy would you like to leave?

A thriving planet and community for all of our kids

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

Government Consulting for one year - it wasn't results driven enough for me

What is something that has been a struggle in your life?

Slowing down to make sure everyone can follow given I think, talk, and act quickly. Too much to get done.

What do you believe is the ideal relationship between the governor and state legislature?

Partnership and compromise all grounded in the best outcomes sought for our people

What do you perceive to be your state's greatest challenges over the next decade?

Balancing our budget while prioritizing the things we cannot live without

Do you believe that compromise is necessary or desirable for policymaking?

Yes, I think we have more in common than we think and the more we can create win win solutions the better off we all are

What was the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember?

George W Bush's election during my AP government class followed by Sept. 11 during my senior year after applying to ROTC scholarships
