In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am a proven grassroots leader who builds bridges in dialogue. My work ethic is reflected in the research, reading, and conversations I have on many subjects. Hardwork, ethics and integrity were instilled in me at an early age working on our family farm, and further developed as a two-sport collegiate athlete, and in my nurse's education, training, and career.

I have been married to my husband for 33 years, and we have two lovely young adults who are both married. In addition, I own and manage farmland with my sisters and mother.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

I am passionate about standing for our liberties. I am a Wallbuilders' Constitution Coach. I am an avid reader and am fond of reading our founding father's original writings. I study history in hopes to be a voice to not repeat mistakes we've made in the past nor repeat what other nations have done that brought their demise. Our nation was founded on biblical principles, and I study the Bible daily to have that wisdom.I will stand for our property rights. We are seeing land owners targeted by outside entities who are coveting their land to fulfill the projects these entities want. I believe eminent domain laws need to be reviewed and addressed, to give land owners more rights.I will work to limit and deregulate government, and protect our pocketbooks. I believe in a free market, and believe the private sector has better solutions than the government, and will fight for citizens to keep more of their hard-earned money. I also do not want a nanny state, and believe many regulations are burdensome and often do not bring the results they were put in place for.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Protecting the life of the unborn children, defending traditional marriage, and decreasing government spending and control. I want to see our youth graduate being well-educated and prepared for life. I believe in parental rights and personal choices/convictions in health matters. I stand for our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Honesty, integrity, knowledge, and commitment to the Constitution - both federal and state, and my oath to God. I am called to be a servant to my constituents, be a diligent and smart worker, and effective communicator and team builder.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

Study bills and their subject matter. Write bills. Listen to/read testimony. Communicate with fellow legislators, lobbyists, and constituents. Vote. Attend events and meetings to represent citizens and also to build relationships in the district, and gain knowledge. First and foremost, the oath is to defend the Constitution and protect the liberties of the constituents.
