In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am running to give a more prominent voice to Rural Nevada. Too much emphasis and resources go to the Urban Counties, when Rural counties need better access to transportation, education, healthcare, affordable living and to promote the unique Visitor and Recreational opportunities of Rural Nevada. A top priority is to assure Data Centers don't destroy the Rural way of life. I will strive to convince my fellow legislators to support Rural issues.

I worked 22 years in IT for EG&G/EM Las Vegas supporting the Atomic Testing at NTS, Remote sensing and served as a member of the Nuclear Emergency Search Team (NEST). Moved to No. NV and worked for the Legislative Counsel Bureau (LCB) IT for legislators, front desk, website etc. for 18 years. During sessions my focus was on Budgets and the Tax Group. Currently Past State President of Retired Public Employees of Nevada (RPEN), past President and Treasurer of the Historical Society of Dayton Valley (HSDV), Friends of Dayton Valley Library, AAUW, and Dayton Main Street.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Nevada needs to realign priorities to assure our rural counties are positioned to prosper for future generations. High Speed internet, scheduled public transportation, long distance learning and tele health would be a start to providing needed services that would encourage a viable continued rural lifestyle.Huge Data Centers are being planned throughout rural Nevada. Having done large scale Radiation Surveys of Nuclear Power Plants etc. I know that for-profit 'public services' companies will lie about resources used and public hazards. I will work to have verifiable controls of these centers so they don't ruin our rural environment, dark skies, water use, or cause noise and light pollution, while ignoring the lifestyle of locals. No tax incentives, fees will pay for inspectors, and end-of-life policies will have them restore the local environment.Travel Nevada has great programs to promote the revitalization of small communities while keeping their historic nature. These programs need to be supported and funded.

Relatively small outlays of money do so much good.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

1. Funding distribution to support the unique needs Nevada’s population

2. Support for Culture, Arts, Parks, Museums, Open Spaces, and Recreation

3. Affordable living
