In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I’m a lifelong problem-solver who has turned personal challenges into a record of public service. Born in Washington, D.C., I worked from a young age, put myself through the University of Maryland, and built a career in advertising before running my own holistic healing center for 11 years.
After my husband and I chose to raise our four children at home, I developed the careful budgeting skills many South Shore families rely on. Since moving to Rockland in 2004, I’ve been active in the community, leading a Girl Scout troop and, after losing our home in a 2007 fire, experiencing firsthand the power of neighbors helping neighbors.
After my friend Ellen was killed on a darkened street, my husband and I raised $15,000 to install solar-powered crosswalks to improve safety. During COVID, I delivered groceries and saw how policy affects daily life.
I later served on the Finance Committee and was elected to the Select Board, where I’ve helped direct millions in federal funding, support infrastructure upgrades, balance budgets without an override, and invest in public safety and local businesses.
Now, I’m running for State Representative to bring a practical, people-first, fiscally responsible approach to Beacon Hill.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
LOWER THE COST OF LIVING
• Bring far more state funding back to our district
• Advocate to keep nursing homes and childcare centers open so families don't bear the burden of closures
• Expand attainable options to keep housing within reach for working families, veterans, and seniorsDELIVER RESPONSIBLE GOVERNMENT
• Spend taxpayer dollars wisely and invest back into our communities
• Repurpose vacant or underused properties for smart, managed growth
• Ensure transparency, fair bidding, and strong labor standards on public projects, including project labor agreementsCREATE LOCAL OPPORTUNITY
• Support innovative local industries that generate profit and reduce costs, like turning recycled glass into sand to sell and help pay down our towns' debts
• Develop regional special education programs that allow students to remain in-district, saving significant costs while enhancing services for families
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
The three areas of public policy I’m most passionate about are the rising cost of living for working families, public education, and caring for our most vulnerable neighbors, including veterans, seniors, and people with disabilities. These priorities are deeply connected: when parents can afford housing, childcare, and other essentials, kids have strong public schools, and we honor and support the people who’ve sacrificed the most or need extra help, our whole community is stronger. As a state representative, I would look at every bill through a simple lens: does this make life more stable, more affordable, and more dignified for the people in our district?
