In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I am an enthusiastic & energetic public school teacher, small business owner, church volunteer, and mom to 3 amazing kids!
I am running for WV House of Delegates District 96 because I am passionate about the people in our Berkeley County community, and I believe we deserve state government that actually listens to and works for the people!
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
My #1 priority is to fix our broken West Virginia public school system. I firmly believe that education IS the key to solving most of life's problems.
We need to fully fund our public schools. We have enough money to pay for the education our children NEED, if we are willing to do without some of the government programs that we WANT.
Children cannot learn until their basic needs are met. Therefore, we need to provide wrap-around services (including mental health resources), as well as alternative and vocational educational programs.I passionately defend the constitution, our personal and religious freedom, and our civil rights. I grow increasingly angry as I watch our federal, state, and local governments encroach upon our constitutional rights. I believe that that frequent violation of our constitutional rights by both major political parties is a major contributing factor to voter apathy. As delegate for West Virginia House District 96, I will do all in my power to limit state control.I believe it is a sacred duty of government to care for the poor. In order to fulfill this duty with fiscal responsibility, I will prioritize government programs that assist the poor with food, clothing, housing, and healthcare while sacrificing programs that are unnecesary. We must meet the basic needs of our citizens before we invest in the government programs we want.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
I am extremely passionate about education, our constitutional and civil rights, and caring for the poor.
