In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

Lindsey Patrick-Wright is a mother, librarian, and longtime advocate for Tennessee families. Raised in rural Arkansas and a Tennessee resident since her teenage years, she spent more than 20 years working in public libraries across the state, helping children, supporting families, and strengthening communities through education and public service.

She is running for the Tennessee State Senate to bring a practical, community-focused voice to the Legislature. Her priorities include making Tennessee more affordable by eliminating the grocery tax, investing in public education instead of expanding private school vouchers, expanding voluntary Universal Pre-K, supporting responsible growth, and protecting the quality of life that makes Middle Tennessee a great place to live. Lindsey believes government should work for working families and is committed to finding commonsense solutions that strengthen communities and create opportunities for every Tennessean.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

1. Making Tennessee More Affordable for Working Families

Too many Tennessee families are working harder than ever but falling further behind. Lindsey will fight to eliminate the state grocery tax, expand access to affordable childcare through voluntary Universal Pre-K, increase the supply of attainable housing, and protect access to affordable healthcare. She believes government should focus on lowering everyday costs and creating an economy where families can build a good life without constantly worrying about making ends meet.2. Protecting and Strengthening Public Education

As a librarian who spent more than 20 years serving children and families, Lindsey knows strong public schools strengthen entire communities. She will oppose private school vouchers that divert taxpayer dollars away from neighborhood schools and instead invest in teachers, classroom resources, and student support services. She will champion voluntary Universal Pre-K so every child starts kindergarten ready to succeed and every family has greater access to affordable early childhood education.3. Responsible Growth That Strengthens Communities

Middle Tennessee is growing rapidly, but growth should work for the people who already call it home. Lindsey will support responsible planning that invests in roads, schools, water, and emergency services before approving new development. She believes local communities deserve a voice in land-use decisions and that Tennessee must protect farmland, natural resources, and our quality of life while welcoming thoughtful economic growth. Good policy balances opportunity with stewardship, ensuring growth benefits families, businesses, and future generations.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
