In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I was born in the State of Colorado and have always had a deep commitment to service, leadership, and defending America’s safety and prosperity.
At the age of 17, I enlisted in the United States Army. I was selected for assignment to the United States Army Old Guard. There, I conducted full honors funerals for our fallen service members as a casket bearer. Standing alongside grieving families during their most difficult moments instilled in me a profound respect for sacrifice, duty, and country.
When the opportunity arose, I returned home to Colorado with an assignment to the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson. I deployed to Afghanistan with the 2nd Brigade, 2-12 Infantry Battalion. That experience strengthened my appreciation for the freedom, prosperity, and security we enjoy as Americans, and my resolve to protect them for future generations.
In 2022, my wife and I made the decision that my time serving in uniform had come to an end. After being honorably discharged, I enrolled at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, majoring in Political Science and History.
While attending school full time, I worked in the Colorado State Legislature as a Legislative Aide, gaining firsthand insight and experience into how state government works—what serves the people well, and where it falls short. I believe Colorado deserves leaders whose number one priority is serving the people they represent.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Affordability:
Families I speak with at my children’s sporting events, friends, and neighbors all say the same thing—Colorado has become unaffordable, because of this many are leaving. Efforts to undermine TABOR, burdensome regulations on small businesses, and policies that drive up the cost of healthcare, childcare, utilities, insurance, groceries, and housing are pushing families out of our state. Regulations that make it harder to produce goods and provide services only worsen the problem. For the people of Senate District 11 and all Coloradans, I will fight to remove the handcuffs from businesses and industry, restoring affordability, opportunity, and the freedom to build a strong and prosperous future.Protecting Civil Liberties:
The United States and the Rocky Mountain West were built on freedom—the freedom to live your life without excessive government interference. Today, that vision is under threat. From attempts to restrict school choice, to government mandates on what products you can buy, the bags you carry them home in, or the appliances and energy sources you use in your own home, government overreach has become the norm in Colorado. These incremental restrictions must stop. As your next State Senator, I will defend the freedoms enshrined in the United States Constitution — just as I defended them while serving overseas.Public Safety:
Prosperity and freedom mean little without security. Every Coloradan, whether living in a quiet neighborhood in Boulder or in a military community in Colorado Springs, deserves to live without fear and enjoy all that our state has to offer. Unfortunately, too many families no longer feel safe in the communities they once trusted. I will work to restore safe and secure communities by supporting law enforcement and first responders, holding violent offenders accountable, and ensuring our justice system prioritizes victims and public safety. Colorado can once again be a place where families feel secure raising their children and building their lives.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Affordability, Public Safety, and the Protection of Civil Liberties.
