In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
My family and I have enjoyed living in New Hampshire for over thirty years. My husband, son, and I have embraced the many amenities that our state has to offer. The mountains, lakes, seacoast, cities and towns have been a large part of our lives. We have enjoyed the cross country skiing, snowshoeing, swimming, tennis, walking, and 5K races. Nashua's downtown has always been a favorite place of mine. I've met so many people through downtown and I am an advocate for local commerce.
As a legislator and member of the Education Policy and Administration Committee, I have supported a strong public school. system. I believe that public schools are a foundation to a community's success.
I have been an educator throughout my lifetime. Some of my teaching experience includes, fifth and sixth grades, third grade fourth grade, kindergarten, gifted and talented programs, and Title 1 reading and math. I am fluent in both English and Spanish which has been an asset in my career.
Currently as a children's author, I foster the arts in education through my work. I will continue to advocate for the arts in education and legislation that supports it.
I am proud to represent the place I call home! New Hampshire has so much to offer us all!
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Legislation that feeds the kids is of critical importance. Due to cuts in SNAP, economic factors, and legislation that was not passed more and more children will become food insecure. It is imperative to put forth legislation now!I will continue to champion for public education and will fight for legislation that demands Education Freedom Account accountability. Our state is not adequately funding public education. I am in opposition to Education Freedom Accounts and their risk of hurting our public schools.Affordable Housing and childcare are imperative in order to improve upon the difficulty citizens are facing with everyday economics.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Early Intervention programs for students, inclusion of preschool and public education, preserving our basic human rights to have food, and affordable healthcare for all citizens.
