In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I am a small hobby business owner with a focus on donating a portion of proceeds back to local non-profit organizations. I also volunteer for the Daviess County Democratic Party serving on the Executive Committee and chairs several committees. A Louisville, KY native, I graduated from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. My early career included 10 years in managerial roles at National City. After my husband and I relocated to Owensboro, KY, over 30 years ago, my focus shifted to raising our three children and I was actively involved in non-profit work, including Junior League, serving as Daviess County CASA Board Chair, and leading PTOs at Highland Elementary and other schools. Completing the Prichard Committee’s CPIL program spurred my 19-year tenure as an School-Based Decision Making Council parent and support staff representative, uniquely serving all three school levels simultaneously at one point. I also worked 13 years for Daviess County Public Schools in various capacities including teaching computer skills to K-5 students, sponsoring the STLP student club, and serving on several district-level committees. I enjoy reading, crafting, watching soccer, playing piano, and walking my dogs.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
My top priority is protecting and strengthening Kentucky’s public schools. I oppose diverting taxpayer dollars to private schools, which courts have repeatedly ruled unconstitutional. I believe education policy should focus on fully funding public education, providing pre-K for all, reducing class sizes, and increasing teacher and staff pay.I know firsthand what a $13-14 an hour paycheck looks like and it’s not a livable wage I advocate for raising wages, supporting family leave, and closing the gap between CEO pay and worker pay. I believe Kentucky has a system problem, not a people problem.Families are doing more with less. I support proactive programs that prevent homelessness and help families before crisis hits. I will call for policies that make childcare and housing affordable and fair.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
• Public Education – Fully fund public schools, pre-K, and teacher and staff pay; stop diverting taxpayer money to private programs.
• Working Families – Raise wages, protect workers, and make Kentucky affordable again.
• Health & Family Support – Protect Medicaid, expand care access, and modernize family leave.
• Integrity in Leadership – Govern with honesty, transparency, and respect.
• People Over Party – Listen, collaborate, and deliver solutions for all Kentuckians.
