Larinda Hooks' career experience includes working as a community organizer and civil rights advocate. Prior to her election to the New York State Assembly, Hooks served as president of the Ericsson Street Block Association and president of the executive board of the East-Elmhurst-Corona Civic Association. She also worked for the East Harlem Council for Community Improvement and held leadership roles at Elmcor Youth & Adult Activities, Inc. and Older Adult Services and Economic Development.[1]
