In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

Born and raised in North Dakota. Started working as a machinist in a tractor factory. Became involved in the union that was there and served in many positions through the years. Was the registered lobbyist in North Dakota for the local lodge and also lobbied our representatives in DC. I was elected to be the President of the North Dakota AFL-CIO, the federation of unions in North Dakota, and was lobbying full time for three sessions (6 years). I retired in July of 2025. I have been active in my district's Democrat party. I have run multiple times in the past for a legislative seat.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Business owners are the largest group (approx. 45%) with farmers coming in second at 30-35% . Very few if any of our hourly workforce are represented in the legislature. I will bring a different perspective to the floor and help to help deepen understanding of the issues faced by working families.I am not opposed to using tax breaks for economic development, but I believe that we need more checks and balances for the tax dollars we invest in businesses through tax abatement. with accountability for the tax relief given. We need to be sure it is an economicly sound policy that is adding to the tax base and not the taxpayer making up the difference with no benefit to them.I have worked well with the representatives in my district.

I believe we can have differing viewpoints and still respect each other and work together to solve complex issues.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Anything that affects working families of course.
