Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
Born and raised in Legislative District 27, Kyle Clayton is a lifelong Arizonan dedicated to building stronger, safer, and more affordable communities. Today, he’s raising his own family in the district — with one child enrolled in the Washington Elementary School District (WESD) — and working every day to make Arizona a better place to live, learn, and grow.
As a full-time Realtor®, Kyle brings an analytical, data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making. His professional experience has taught him the importance of transparency, integrity, and advocating tirelessly for others — principles he carries into his public service.
Since 2023, Kyle has served his community on the Washington Elementary School District Governing Board, where he currently leads as Board President. In that role, he’s helped improve student attendance, championed continued investment in arts and athletics, and guided the district through a major leadership transition — always with a focus on students and families first.
Kyle’s commitment to community goes beyond the classroom. As a member of the Shaw Butte Neighborhood Alliance, he’s helped secure more than $250,000 in local investments, planted over 300 trees, and organized events that bring neighbors together. His track record proves he knows how to collaborate, build coalitions, and deliver results.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Education for Arizona’s Future – Strong schools are the key to strong communities. I will work to balance the unequal funding elementary and high schools receive, raise per-pupil funding, fully fund-day kindergarten, and reform ESA vouchers. Our students need to get off to a strong start so they can be prepared for high-demand Arizona jobs. Kids are our future and education is their foundation.Lowering Costs for Arizona Families – High costs are unjustly burdening our families. I will fight to make healthcare, housing, childcare, and energy more affordable because Arizona families deserve financial relief.Fiscal Responsibility and Fairness - Common-sense spending and accountability have fallen through the cracks at the legislature. I plan to bring them back by evaluating tax incentives to ensure they are valuable for taxpayers, requiring performance-based outcomes for companies that receive state benefits, and focusing on smart investments to support Arizona’s families, students, and workforce.

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
My name is Kyle Clayton and I’m a parent, not a politician. I am running for Washington Elementary School District governing board. As a native of Arizona, I’ve been educated in the public school system from kindergarten to college at ASU. I have a Bachelors degree in Spanish and an International Business certification from the W.P. Carey School of Business. Most importantly, I know what it’s like to be a student in the Arizona educational system. I also know what it is like to be a parent of a WESD student because my son attends school in this district.
As a board member I would bring a desire to make things better for kids, a desire to nurture strong teacher/student/family relationships, a willingness to listen and learn, along with the courage to speak up and ask questions. I’ve always been an entrepreneur, running successful companies, so I know how to maximize budgets. As a real estate agent, I understand contract law. I am also a connector, which I would leverage to encourage a collaborative approach to solve problems within our schools.
I am running, not just for families like mine, but for all families, particularly those often left out of the conversation.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Washington Elementary School District needs more teachers. So we need to focus on our climate and culture to make improvements to retain teachers. We also need to pressure our Legislators to fully fund public education.
Our schools are left on their own, to do whatever they can for their students. Which results in different levels of support and opportunity campus by campus and that isn’t fair. I want to make sure all our kids have amazing memories and learn so much in elementary school. We need to make sure that our students have access and opportunities to learn music, teamwork in sports, and art within their schools. These subjects teach our kids so much and should be just as high of a priority as passing tests.
