Background

Kimberly Berfield was born in Houston, Texas. Berfield earned an A.A. from St. Petersburg College in 1991, a B.A. in mass communications from the University of Central Florida in 1993, and an M.B.A. from Northeastern University in 2012. Her career experience includes working as the vice president of government affairs and community health of Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital, the director of government affairs of WellCare Health Plans, and the deputy secretary and acting chief of staff of the Florida Department of Health.[1][2]
