Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

The state should be doing more with less and not adding to the affordability crisis. Kevin's aim will be to maximize taxpayer dollars and be a vocal advocate for Colorado families struggling through the affordability crisis. Our state workers and retirees need a tireless advocate to preserve their future and their pension. The state must not renege on its promise to our PERA retirees. We have an obligation to make and keep PERA funded to guarantee that our retirees continue to have a pension and ensure that our current employees have one in the future. We won’t be paying exorbitant bonuses anymore to state workers who are investing on the state’s behalf. As we’ve learned, these are some of the highest paid state employees who get the benefit of state retirement that we know we can’t afford. We either contract with private employers with negotiated returns and fees or we get the best and brightest under the state system. Our Unclaimed Property Trust Fund must be protected from the Legislative budget balancing process. These are not tax dollars to be used to fund government. We need to protect the money that belongs to Coloradans and work diligently to get it back to the rightful wallets. It’s been a theme of the single-party rule at the capitol that they deserve those dollars more than you do. That’s essentially an additional tax on people that isn’t fair and I don’t believe it’s legal.•

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

We need to respect and protect Colorado taxpayers. For years of single-party rule, Colorado families have seen their property taxes increase resulting in higher mortgage bills, higher local sales taxes, higher fees for services – pretty soon we’re faced with an affordability crisis.

We need to clamp down on government waste. It seems every month we see a new headline flagging wasteful government spending to the tune of tens of millions of dollars. Medicaid spending will soon engulf the largest amount of our state’s budget and we’re still not properly vetting the people who are taking advantage of the system. As your Treasurer, I’ll put taxpayers first to be a good steward of your hard-earned dollars.

What organizations or individuals have endorsed your campaign?

I have been endorsed by a long list of my fellow County Commissioners, current and former elected state officials, and regular Coloradans around just like you.
