Kevin Dawson is a Democratic candidate for Oklahoma Labor Commissioner with 43 years of experience in safety-sensitive industries, public safety, operations, training, and workforce leadership.
Dawson began his railroad career in 1979 and later served in management roles involving operating practices, public safety, training, recruitment, and human resources. Throughout his career, he worked in environments where safety, accountability, and responsibility carried real-world consequences.
His campaign focuses on common-sense leadership, workplace safety, fair enforcement of labor laws, and supporting responsible businesses that follow the rules. Dawson believes many workplace safety regulations exist because workers were injured or killed before those protections were established, often describing safety rules as “written in blood.”
He supports maintaining the Oklahoma Department of Labor’s core mission of protecting workers, consumers, and responsible businesses while ensuring the department operates efficiently, fairly, and professionally.
