Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I’m a U.S. Marine veteran, former intelligence professional, husband, and dad.
I was born into a working-class family in Los Alamos, New Mexico. We lived in a trailer on the edge of town. We moved a lot for work or family, finally making it to North Carolina. It was there, on 9/11, that I saw our country attacked and I knew I had to serve.
At 17, I joined the Marines.
I deployed twice to Iraq, led teams, earned promotions, and kept studying while on active duty. Later, I worked at the Defense Intelligence Agency, then deployed again, this time to Afghanistan where I led security teams protecting U.S. intelligence personnel in the field.
Stateside, I earned my Master’s Degree in Sustainable Development, kept my Top Secret/SCI clearance, and worked my way to the White House Situation Room, representing the White House as the Room’s technical advisor for it’s renovation under President Biden. I saw up close what leadership with integrity looks like.
I live in North Richland Hills with my wife who is an immigrant from Honduras and an officer in the Texas Army National Guard. Together, we are raising our son who attend our neighborhood's public school.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
I’m running for congress because these are not ordinary times. We must act now. We are less prosperous, less secure, less capable, and less well off than a year ago. Our position in the international community has been significantly eroded within a short period of time. The American dream feels further out of reach today, especially for young people.
But, I believe our best days are still ahead of us, not behind us. I believe we have far more in common than the things which divide us, despite the current Representative's efforts break up our communities using fear and anger. Our Nation and every Texan are worth fighting for. We owe it to those who have given their lives in the defense of democracy to fight the fight in front of us.The district's main challenge is affordability. Prices have still not come back down and people in our district now lack access to quality healthcare and childcare, rising utility and insurance costs, and lack of access to quality public education that is under attack from ISDs, State, and Federal governments. The dream of homeownership and entrepreneurship are moving further out of reach for hardworking honest people and sadly, many young people do not see a future in which they can have a fair chance at success.
In Congress I’ll work to roll back Trump's Tariffs and their inflationary effects, fight to expand grant's and financial eligibility for technical skills based training, and fund programs such as Universal Pre-K.The post-WWII rules-based order forged at Bretton Woods is being eroded, enabled by a Congress that has ceded key powers over tariffs, military action, and diplomacy. This retreat weakens intelligence sharing, strains cooperation with allies and major trade partners, and swaps decades of stability under Pax Americana for a narrow view Monroe Doctrine revival via sphere-of-influence thinking. Such withdrawal creates openings for authoritarian rivals and undermines the strategic focus on great-power competition. My experience in the Intelligence Community equips me to help restore accountability, rebuild allied trust, strengthen cooperation, and advance a national defense strategy rooted in partnership, stability, and democratic leadership.
