Campaign website
Buck’s campaign website stated the following:
1. Lowering the High Cost of Groceries and Medicine
The high cost of living across America is largely driven by escalating costs in housing, healthcare, and education, along with inflation impacting food and utilities.
Housing prices, including rent and property values, have surged beyond income growth, compounded by supply shortages and increased construction costs.
Healthcare expenses remain among the world’s highest, contributing to financial challenges.
Inflation continues to impact essential items like food and utilities, keeping everyday costs elevated despite other sector adjustments.
2. Keeping Our Communities Safer
Crime rates have led many to feel insecure in both public and private spaces. A zero-tolerance stance is essential to address crime effectively.
Supporting law enforcement transcends politics, demanding a collective commitment from authorities and communities to ensure public safety by fully supporting law enforcement needs.
Upholding the Second Amendment is crucial, while implementing sensible strategies to reduce gun-related incidents and deaths is widely supported.
3. Supporting a Strong National Defense
Global threats necessitate unwavering commitment to national defense investments.
Our armed forces personnel remain the core of national defense. Providing comprehensive support for them and their families during and post-service is a pledge I hold as a veteran.
Strengthening alliances with international partners has been the cornerstone of defense against adversaries. Our robust military and economic connections fortify us as a leading nation.
4. Protecting Our Health Care
The high cost of healthcare is a critical issue, with many facing exorbitant insurance premiums or lacking coverage entirely. Policies to lower healthcare costs are essential.
Medicare and Medicaid are vital lifelines that must be preserved.
The cost of prescription medications forces difficult choices for many; balancing pharmaceutical profits with public affordability needs to be addressed.
Healthcare facilities, especially in rural areas, are under pressure to deliver affordable care, facing potential closures that could leave communities without adequate services.
Navigating complex healthcare systems is overly challenging, from selecting suitable insurance to understanding covered providers. Simplifying healthcare delivery is a commitment.
5. Promoting Comprehensive Education Opportunities
While education strategy is primarily state-focused, federal support through funding and achievement standards plays a significant role.
Educational funding and nutritional assistance are vital supports that promote competitiveness and productivity among youth, preparing them for a global stage.
Our higher education institutions excel, producing leaders across disciplines. Maintaining their excellence requires ongoing investment and support, which is a steadfast commitment.
