In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
“Hello, my name is Kelly Hough, and I am a Democratic candidate for the South Carolina House of Representatives, District 114.
As a South Carolina native, nurse of nearly 10 years, wife, and mother of four, I understand many of the challenges South Carolinians face every day. After losing my father as a child, I watched my mother work multiple jobs while caring for our family during his battle with cancer. Those experiences shaped my understanding of hardship, resilience, and the importance of community support.
Through my work in healthcare and my experiences raising a family in South Carolina, I have seen firsthand the need for stronger healthcare access, better educational support for our children, responsible economic growth, and leadership that listens to the people it represents.
I believe South Carolinians deserve transparent, accountable leadership focused on improving quality of life, supporting families, and creating practical solutions for the future of our state.

People should be able to afford housing, food, healthcare, childcare, and save for their future without constantly struggling to keep up with rising cost.I believe government works best when people feel heard.
