Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I am a lifelong Mainer who cares deeply for what is happening to Mainers and their families because it is happening to me and mine as well. We are facing a rapid loss of freedoms, one party legislation, jobs being lost, our elderly being abandoned, and our children undergoing extreme undue stress. The time to be quiet is far past and we must elect officials who will speak loudly for YOU. I promise to be that person.
I have spent my life in Maine and have lived in Palermo for the past 7 years with my children attending the local elementary school and Erskine Academy, worshipping in local churches and enjoying the natural resources that abound in our area. I am a small business owner who has seen the destruction to business from Main Street to Industrial parks through burdensome legislation and excessive taxation which creates a nearly impossible business environment.
I believe in the hardworking and honest people of Maine, but I believe their needs must be heard, and not ignored, in the halls of the State House. I am excited to meet the constituents of my district and hear and respond to their concerns.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Freedom - I believe Maine is on the edge of becoming a state we no longer recognize and that it is CRUCIAL that we change the direction of the state in 2022. Growing up in Appleton I enjoyed a community built on respect of differences and the mutual belief that if we worked together our lives would be better for it. Throughout the past two years we have seen a one party rule that has taken away the community spirit of Maine and we MUST restore balance to this state before we lose what makes us unique.Hold Education Accountable - The education system has left our children far behind over the last two years. Our children have lost valuable education and have lived under the stress of overburdensome remote learning, masking and political division that has caused emotional harm. We must free our schools to focus on what is best for the kids. Schools also must be held accountable in the curriculum arena which has become a tool to create racial and economic division in an environment which should be about learning the basics and not the philosophy of a particular teacher or administrator.Lessen the Tax Burden and encourage business - Raised on the family farm by a single mother I understand that we must prioritize spending and not endlessly give money to pet projects that the Democrats deem important while people cry out for relief from the huge tax burden that we have here in Maine. The people and their ability to live free and prosperous lives must be given priority. As a small business owner I know that we must be supportive and innovative to get businesses to reopen and flourish, not lip service, but real support.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Education, Health and Human Services and Labor and Employment
What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?
Honesty and a willingness to respond to and talk with their constituents.
What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?
If you spoke with anyone who has worked with me in the political sphere over the past several years they would describe me as honest, prepared, responsive to their needs and bold enough to speak the truth. I also believe in giving hope to people who are discouraged and to give them the tools to make a path to real change in their world.
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
Interaction with their constituents and representing the interests of their specific district.
What do you believe is the ideal relationship between the governor and state legislature?
The Governor should have open and honest daily communication with members of all parties within the state Legislature. The Governor should respect the state legislature and believe in their vital role.
What do you perceive to be your state's greatest challenges over the next decade?
The greatest challenge to Maine is rebuilding our economy after the loss of thousands of businesses throughout the pandemic. The state has one of the worst business environments in the country and without improving it we will not keep the next generation in Maine and will not see prosperity for our people, but only further dependence on state resources.
Should the legislature oversee or grant the use of emergency powers?
The legislature should oversee the use of emergency powers and should NEVER be shut out the political process. The granting of Emergency powers should only be extended with the understanding that the Governor has to have approval from 2/3 of the Legislature to continue.
Do you believe that compromise is necessary or desirable for policymaking?
It is desirable but in Maine it is non existent. The past two years of Democrat control have shown us that Democrats will not work in a bipartisan manner to do what is right for ALL the people of Maine. I will not compromise on my moral beliefs or vote in a way that waters down an important bill.
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
Raised on the family farm in Appleton enjoying the benefits of a small community Katrina is committed to the people of Maine. Hard work and achieving goals are no stranger to Katrina as she graduated from Gordon College with a BA in Sociology and went on to become the Director of Human Resources for a nationwide company by the age of 23.

Innovation and commitment to conservative values are the trademarks of her campaign and she believes that if we work together we can bring Common Sense back to Augusta in November
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Wisely use tax revenue WITHOUT asking for more money from the people. Frugality and common sense should be the guiding principles of government Committed to protecting the freedom of the 1st and 2nd Amendment Use innovative ideas and solutions to grow our economy.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
I am personally passionate about protecting the future of Maine and the vulnerable population of Maine including the elderly, veterans and those on the margins of society. We must provide Economic opportunities for those who want to achieve financial goals and solid safety nets for the elderly who have cared for people their whole lives.
I also believe that the education system has become more about social issues than about education and believe the system must be held accountable to educate in the basics first.
What was your very first job? How long did you have it?
At 16 I was working as a waitress at Marriners Restaurant in Camden, Maine. I had this job for 8 summers.
