In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
As a mother to a son who died of an overdose, and a caregiving spouse who lost my husband to cancer, I have experience and insights into the challenges with our healthcare system that plague too many families in our district. I'm using my voice to fight for our communities on healthcare, tackling climate change, and supporting public education.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
I am working to improve our health care system, with a focus on substance use disorder and supporting family caregivers. We need to tight climate change and protect our environment. Massachusetts must be a leader as long as the federal government fails to take action. We need to support public education, including universal Pre-K. Our public schools are the cornerstones of our communities.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
I believe that government can should play a positive role in the lives of the people. Substance use disorder and recovery are deeply personal priorities for me. I am particularly concerned about people who fall through gaps in our treatment system — including young people, people leaving correctional facilities, and those who need longer-term recovery support.
