In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I'm Karina Wallace, a grassroots candidate running for Washington State House of Representatives, Legislative District 9, Position 2. I'm a mom of six, a Washington State certified Peer Support Specialist, a former caregiver and DSHS Job Center worker, and a disabled person living with lupus and Sjögren's syndrome. I moved to Cheney because family, I believe Eastern Washington deserves representation that actually shows up. I take zero corporate PAC money and zero corporate lobbyist donations — because my vote should belong to the people of LD-9, not to donors.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Accountability over ideology. I'm running because working families in Eastern Washington deserve a representative who tells the truth, votes for people over donors, and shows up whether the cameras are on or not. I don't take corporate PAC money or corporate lobbyist donations. My vote is not for sale.Real policy for real people. My first-term priorities are the Paycheck Protection and Corporate Accountability package, the Disability and Chronic Illness Access Guarantee, and the Lobbyist Accountability and Conflict of Interest Transparency Act — three practical, achievable bills that directly help working families, disabled residents, and anyone tired of watching government serve donors instead of people.Eastern Washington deserves to be heard in Olympia. I live here, I'm raising my family here, and I know what rural communities need — stable paychecks, healthcare access, disability services that actually reach people, and a government that stops treating us as an afterthought. I'm calm on purpose, I tell the truth, and I keep going. One honest step at a time.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Worker protections and wage accountability — nobody should work full time and still need food stamps while their employer's CEO makes 300 times their salary. Disability and chronic illness access — I live this every day and I know how badly the system fails people who need it most. Lobbyist accountability and government transparency — corruption doesn't always look dramatic, sometimes it's just a gift loophole and a closed-door meeting. Rural healthcare access including maternity care and birth care deserts in Eastern Washington. And protecting individual freedom from government overreach — people should be able to live as themselves without the government deciding whose life is valid
