Kalei Akaka grew up in Hawaii. She earned a bachelor's degree from Chaminade University of Honolulu. Her professional experience includes working for the Hawaii state legislature and working in the public relations field. She has been affiliated with the Office of Hawaiian Affairs' Committee on Beneficiary Advocacy and Empowerment.[1]
