In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am a husband, father, public school teacher, union representative, and lifelong Dundalk resident running for the Maryland Senate in District 6. My wife and I are raising our daughter here in the same community that helped shape me, and I understand the challenges local families face every day.

I have dedicated my career to serving others through education, labor advocacy, and public service. As a teacher, I work directly with students and families and see firsthand the importance of strong schools, safe communities, and economic opportunity. As a union representative, I have fought to ensure working people have a voice and are treated fairly.

I’m running for the Maryland Senate to bring a common sense approach, real results, and accessible leadership to Annapolis. I believe government works best when leaders listen to their communities, focus on practical solutions, and put working families first.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Marylanders need relief, plain and simple. The cost of living continues to rise while families and seniors are being crushed by higher utility bills, taxes, fees, and everyday expenses. Residents should not have to choose between paying their BGE bill, buying groceries, or filling a prescription. Annapolis cannot continue balancing budgets on the backs of working people. I will fight to lower costs, oppose unnecessary tax and fee increases, demand accountability from utility companies, and put affordability first so families can keep more of what they earn and retirees can remain in the communities they helped build.Securing state funding for the 6th District is essential to improving the quality of life in our communities. For too long, our area has dealt with aging infrastructure and underinvestment in critical needs like road repairs, school expansion, and upgrades to the Back River Wastewater Treatment Plant. These are not optional projects, they are basic responsibilities that directly affect public health, safety, and economic growth.

I will fight to bring our fair share of state resources back to Southeast Baltimore County so that our roads are safe and reliable, our schools can handle growing enrollment, and our water infrastructure meets modern standards. The delay in rebuilding the Key Bridge underscores the need for faster action, stronger accountability, and more efficient delivery of critical infrastructure projects. This is not just a transportation issue, it is a lifeline for workers, businesses, commuters, and the regional economy. Every delay has real consequences for families and economic activity across the area.

We need a rebuilding process that moves with urgency, is managed responsibly, and prioritizes results over bureaucracy. I will push for clear timelines, strong oversight, and a commitment to getting the Key Bridge rebuilt safely and as quickly as possible so that our region can fully recover and move forward.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I am most passionate about public education and public safety, because both are foundational to strong communities. As a public school teacher, I see firsthand how critical it is that students have well funded schools with the resources they need to succeed. That includes supporting teachers, improving school facilities, and ensuring every child has access to a quality education.

I am committed to ensuring communities feel safe in their neighborhoods and that law enforcement has the resources needed to do their jobs effectively and safely. My focus is on practical solutions that support our students, keep our homes and businesses secure, and strengthen our communities overall.
