Campaign websitePerry's campaign website stated the following:Education FirstAs a Fairfax County classroom teacher, Julie Perry has seen firsthand how political agendas and bureaucratic mandates have damaged education in Virginia’s 10th District. Students are falling behind, parents are being shut out, and teachers are being pressured to prioritize ideology over academics. In Congress, Julie will fight to restore a focus on reading, math, science, history, and the arts, support parents’ rights, and ensure schools prepare students for real-world success—not political activism.Cost of Living & Fiscal ResponsibilityFamilies across Virginia’s 10th District are feeling the squeeze from rising housing costs, higher grocery bills, and increased energy prices—especially commuters and young families trying to put down roots in Northern Virginia. Julie will push for fiscal responsibility, oppose reckless spending, and support policies that bring down inflation so families can afford to live, work, and raise children in the communities they love.Economic OpportunityVirginia’s 10th District is home to small businesses, federal contractors, technology innovators, and entrepreneurs who drive our region’s economy. Julie supports policies that encourage investment here at home, protect American workers from unfair labor dumping, and reduce burdensome regulations that stifle growth. Her goal is a strong, competitive economy that creates good-paying jobs and long-term opportunity for Northern Virginia workers and families.National SecurityJulie Perry believes safe communities and equal justice under the law are fundamental to a strong society. She supports enforcing the law, protecting constitutional rights, and cracking down on violent crime and fraud that threaten families and small businesses in VA-10. On the national stage, Julie will advocate for a foreign policy rooted in peace through strength, supporting a strong military and national defense that protects America’s interests at home and abroad.Healthcare That Works for VirginiansHealthcare in Virginia’s 10th District is too expensive, too confusing, and too often controlled by government bureaucracy instead of doctors and patients. Julie supports reforms that increase transparency, lower costs, and expand access while protecting quality care. She believes healthcare decisions should be made by families and medical professionals—not Washington—and will fight to simplify the system so it works for Virginians, not against them.— Julie Perry's campaign website (July 9, 2026)Note: This text is quoted verbatim from the original source. Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
My name is Julie Perry, and I’m running for the Virginia House of Delegates to represent the amazing district that I have been lucky enough to call home for the past several years.
My father served in the United States Air Force, so growing up we moved around quite a bit—I learned the value of finding a place you could call home, and I found that here in Herndon with my husband, Mike.
Teaching is my lifelong passion. I received my undergraduate degree in Sociology from the University of Maryland, and my Masters Degree in Education from West Virginia University. I get to live in my dream job every day, teaching 9th grade world history and 11th grade U.S. History at Centreville High School in Fairfax County.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Re-opening our schools and fighting to improve education.Restoring faith and public trust in our elections.Promoting fiscal accountability and responsible spending in government.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
My passion is in education. Finding ways to more effectively reach students and ensure they are prepared to step into the workforce or go to a top tier university should be our highest priority. Additionally, we need to ensure every dollar spent on education is spent efficiently, thoughtfully, and with the greatest impact for each of our students.
What legacy would you like to leave?
My goal is to make the greatest positive impact possible on as many folks as I can. Each day I start with the thought: "What will I do to be a positive force in my community today?" Serving my community in the House of Delegates is the best possible way I can think of to help as many people as I can.
