In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

Julie Kerton has been a Brookfield resident for 35 years, where her children attended the Brookfield Public Schools. She currently serves as Chairperson of the Brookfield Board of Assessment Appeals, a board on which she has served for the past decade. Her work on the BOAA reflects her ability to weigh evidence, act with fairness, and make thoughtful, well‑reasoned decisions for residents. As a realtor, she guides families through one of the most significant financial decisions of their lives and understands how housing, taxes, and local economic conditions shape people’s daily experiences. She approaches this work by listening, building trust, and bringing people together to solve problems.

Julie previously managed The Lord’s Pantry, a nonprofit serving individuals with HIV/AIDS and their children. In this role, she oversaw a $600,000 budget supported by government grants, donor contributions, private and corporate funding, and trust endowments.

She also has worked as a behavior therapist in several Fairfield County communities, providing ABA therapy to children with special needs in both home and school settings—work that required patience, dedication, and a strong commitment to helping families.
