In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

My name is Joshua Ashburn, and I am running for Congress because I am tired of watching career politicians get elected year after year without truly helping the American people. I strongly believe in term limits and in putting the people first instead of politics.

I am 36 years old, a proud father of two wonderful children, and family means everything to me. I want my children and every child in this country to grow up in a safe nation filled with endless opportunities and hope for the future.

I have been with my spouse for almost six years, and she has been one of my strongest supporters throughout this journey. She is also a wonderful mother who shares my belief in building a better future for American families.

I am not a career politician. I am an American who wants to fight for hardworking families, safer communities, and a government that listens to the people again.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

I strongly believe that maintaining secure borders is essential to the safety, stability, and well-being of our country. One of my greatest concerns is the large amount of illegal drugs that continue to enter our communities every single day. These substances contribute to addiction, crime, and the loss of countless lives, affecting families and communities across the nation. For this reason, border security should remain a top priority. Strengthening our borders can help reduce drug trafficking, improve public safety, and ensure that law enforcement agencies have the resources they need to better protect citizens. While immigration and trade are important parts of our country.I believe America should pursue peace whenever possible and avoid unnecessary wars. Military conflicts often place heavy burdens on American families through rising costs, economic instability, and the loss of lives both at home and abroad. Our leaders should prioritize diplomacy, stability, and policies that strengthen the country instead of expanding involvement in overseas conflicts. Many Americans supported President Donald Trump because they believed he would avoid new wars and focus more on domestic issues. However, critics argue that continued U.S. involvement in multiple international conflicts and foreign aid commitments have contributed to economic strain at home.I support small businesses and farmers because they are the backbone of our communities and economy. They provide jobs, produce the food we rely on, and help keep local communities strong. I believe many of them are being weighed down by excessive government regulations and rising costs that make it harder to succeed.

We should be working to support small business owners and farmers, not making things more difficult for them. I believe we should reduce their tax burden, cut unnecessary red tape, and make it easier for people to start and grow a business. Too many hardworking Americans with good ideas are discouraged by complicated rules, high fees, and barriers that favor large corporations over local businesses.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

making America affordable again. Housing is to high the American dream as we knew it is dead and i want to be apart of bringing it back to life.

What organizations or individuals have endorsed your campaign?
