In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I have been married 43 years to my wife Sonja. We have two children and three grandchildren and have lived in Meade County for over 29 years. We are blessed to have our grandchildren live in Meade County, too. I am a born-again Christian. I am also a retired soldier and worked for 6 years in Kabul and 6 years as the Executive Director of Transit Authority of Central Kentucky (TACK) in Elizabethtown. I have BA & MA degrees in Political Science / Government from the University of Louisville. I'm running for office because I have three grandchildren and I don't like the direction our government is headed.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

1. I am 100% pro-life. I believe abortion has been a moral holocaust in our culture these last more than 50 years and American must rebuild the moral basis through which we protect innocent life. Life is so much more than a simple choice. Life justifies its own existence and all life is valuable. The Dobbs decision in 2022 has eliminated the Constitutional right to kill babies in the womb; however, it has not changed everyone's heart. Our real task is to make abortion an unthinkable option and to do that, we must seize and hold the moral & ethical high ground.2. I support an opportunity economy. I believe in our future and facilitating opportunity allows more of my fellow citizens to grasp their own version of the "good life."

Since Nucor Steel came to Brandenburg, our household median income has jumped $20,000 per year - an excellent example of a rising tide lifting all boats. I favor more opportunities versus less.3. I believe as government grows, our individual liberty contracts. Therefore, I will seek to re-brand the Republican Party of Kentucky as committed to making our state government steadily smaller. Each year we should learn to celebrate our ability to force the government to live with "less." That should be our budgetary goal.

There are three legitimate functions of state government: Public health & safety - infrastructure - Training (education). All spending outside of those three areas must be highly scrutinized.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Two: Affordable housing and supporting families.

I believe all social safety net programs our state administers should focus upon the creation of families and supporting those families. I believe these efforts can be linked to home ownership, as well. We must ensure all our efforts to support the poorest of our poor are focused upon building families to nurture our children - not simply giving money to mothers and taking it away as she recruits a father for her child.
