Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

Dr. Joseph Quinn Jarvis is descended from Utah pioneers. He's experienced a varied career as a physician, a public health officer, an academic, an author, and a small business owner. Though he'd been active in Republican politics for years, he left the GOP in 2016, when it nominated a presidential candidate who Joe found incompatible with his Utah values. Dr. Jarvis has long been an advocate for a better, simpler, cheaper health care system based on single-payer reform.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

I advocate for state-based single-payer health care reform because it will be better for our health, simpler to use, and cheaper to finance. I support comprehensive, compassionate immigration reform becuase I believe that no one should be penalized for trying to live the American Dream. I stand for integrity, equity, justice, and the rule of law - all of which are sadly lacking in our government today.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I am most passionate about health care reform and compassionate immigration.

What legacy would you like to leave?

I would like to leave my children and grandchildren with better, simpler, cheaper health care, and with a government that values integrity, equity, justice, and the rule of law once again.

What do you perceive to be the United States' greatest challenges as a nation over the next decade?

Our greatest challenge is the runaway spending that comes from rising health care costs. We also need to confront immigration reform, a changing climate, and Russian agression. But our greatest challenge may be that we have elected leaders who lack ethics, morals, and values.
