In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
Howdy, my name's Joseph Bishop. I am an Idaho and Boise native, being born and raised here in South East Boise. In my free time I enjoy writing, reading, and spending time with my friends & family. I am presently a full time student at Boise State University and pursuing a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. Additionally I have had the honor of serving as a member of the Idaho Army National Guard for the past three years.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
There is no realistic scenario that I would endorse the raising of taxes for the average Idahoan. We as individuals are required to manage our finances strictly, and the government should be held to the same if no higher standard.I am anti big, whether that's big government or big business. For too long we have ceded our rights to other entities under false pretenses, or outright had them stripped without concern for our will. If elected I will be a strong advocate for ensuring individual liberties are upheld and fight to prevent the cabal like relationship big business and our government share.I wish to serve you, the people. Your concerns, your gripes, even the tiny things that grind your gears, I want to personally be your advocate. If elected as your representative, I will do what's in the job title and represent you.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
In my studies of the criminal justice field I have been shown the short comings and at times out right failures of our system. Though Idaho does well in its rehabilitation programs, there is always more work to do. I wish to see reforms enacted that welcome former inmates back into our society, but still hold the especially heinous criminal acts accountable.
