In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I retired from the US Air Force, after 21 years, as a Lt. Colonel. Early in my career I flew reconnaissance missions, worldwide, beginning during the Vietnam war. Later in my career I had the privilege of flying Presidents George H. W Bush and Bill Clinton along with many of our government officials. After my retirement from the military I flew as a commercial airline captain and pilot flight instructor on the Boeing 747. In both in the military and civilian world, I had an opportunity to mentor the next generation of pilots. As I approached the end of my flying career, I found myself drawn toward helping my community. I ran, and was elected, as a city commissioner. I also began a business that provides affordable housing for my community. I work in a collaborative spirit, bringing diverse voices to the table and building solutions through partnership rather than division. I am committed to expanding the opportunity for all, recognizing that strong communities grow when everyone has a fair chance to succeed.
