Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I am a physical therapist that has practiced for over 30 years in the field of outpatient orthopedics. I have been married for 30 years and have 3 sons who are 20, 23 and 25. Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
I believe we need to make quality healthcare more affordable and accessible for everyone. This includes a working to eliminate the disparities in healthcare for black and brown Missourians.Public education is under attack in Missouri and across the country. We must work to protect our public schools and make sure every child in Missouri has access to a quality education regardless of their zip code.Women’s reproductive rights have been taken away. Every woman in Missouri should have access to healthcare, including abortion. Those medical decisions need to be left to a woman and her doctor. Government has no place making healthcare decisions for women.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Having a background in healthcare, I am passionate about making healthcare and prescription drugs affordable and accessible for everyone. I feel it is critically important that we improve the maternal and infant mortality rate for women and children of color.
As a school board member and parent, I am also passionate about protecting our public schools. Education is under attack and we have to protect our schools. We need to make funding our schools and paying our teachers a priority in Missouri.
