In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I’m Jim Pierson, a family man, Army Special Forces veteran, and technology leader with more than 30 years of experience solving large-scale problems in both the public and private sectors.

I served seven years in the U.S. Army Special Forces, including Airborne training and deployments in the Arctic Circle, with training in communications, electronics, and cross-training in medical and engineering roles.

After the military, I helped build and manage large technology systems at companies including Apple, Microsoft, and GoDaddy, where I worked on projects supporting millions of users, led cross-organizational initiatives across hundreds of product teams, and helped manage technology investments and budgets reaching into the hundreds of millions of dollars.

Over the years, I’ve learned that the best solutions come from listening carefully, working with people from different backgrounds and opposing viewpoints, and staying focused on real-world results instead of ideology or drama.

I’m running for State Representative because I believe government should work for ordinary people again. Too many families are struggling with housing costs, healthcare costs, transportation problems, and rising utility bills while political divisions continue to grow. I believe we need practical leadership that can bring people together to solve problems instead of constantly treating neighbors as enemies.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Government should work for ordinary people again. I believe government should be a steward that makes systems work for people, not an enemy of the people. I will listen to you, protect constitutional rights, and focus on practical solutions instead of ideology or drama.I want to help make life more affordable and less stressful for working families by improving roads and infrastructure, supporting strong schools, expanding housing, keeping communities safe, helping small businesses thrive, and growing our economy while addressing climate and energy challenges responsibly.Healthcare ties many of these challenges together. When profit comes first, families pay more and get less. I support patient-first healthcare solutions that reduce excessive for-profit costs, lower costs for families, and expand access without breaking what already works.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I’m passionate about reducing excessive for-profit healthcare costs so more healthcare dollars go toward actual patient care and families can afford the care they need.

I’m also passionate about making it easier for young families and first-time buyers to afford homes by streamlining permitting, improving infrastructure coordination, and reducing unnecessary delays and costs in home construction.

Finally, I believe Washington needs a fairer tax system that lowers the burden on working families and small businesses while ensuring large corporations and the wealthiest interests pay their fair share.

What organizations or individuals have endorsed your campaign?
