In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
Hi, my name is Jim Alvey, and I am running to represent our community in the Utah State House. I am a lifelong resident of Ogden. I was born in the old Dee Hospital and grew up right on Harrison Boulevard. I attended and graduated from Weber State College. I have lived in District 10 my entire life. It’s where we have raised our six boys, built a small business, and served my church and community. I care deeply about the future of our state and district. I am running to create a better future for our children and grandchildren.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Stop government growth. Our children and others are being told to turn to government to solve their problems. We need to re-enshrine self reliance and resourcefulness
as a more solid foundation for freedom, peace and happiness.Reduce the tax burden on citizens. Our children are looking outside of the state for homes and jobs. We need to vote against the expenses that contribute this burgeoning demand.I will be a voice against progressive, woke policies that invite boys/men into women's sports and lives; gender affirming therapies for children. I will be a voice supporting the sanctity of life.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
School choice should be a parental right.
