In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am a social worker turned State Representative who has been effective in the State Legislature for the past 8 years. I am running to bring those skills down to Washington because our country is a mess right now. People cannot afford to work one job and live their basic lives. Millionaires and corporations are running things at the expense of everyday people. Healthcare is being driven by profit, as is housing, foreign policy, and environmental decisions, among many other things. I have the skills to go down to Washington and work with like-minded Democrats to push on leadership to steer our party and this country in a different direction. We all pay into the government, the government should invest in us.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Life shouldn't be this hard for people. You should be able to work one job and afford your basic needs. We need to get money out of politics. Millionaire and corporations are running things in this country and the profit of a few is coming at the expense of the many.Healthcare should be accessible and affordable for everyone. We need Medicare for all, and until we get there, we need to get profit out of healthcare.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Women's health and safety.

What organizations or individuals have endorsed your campaign?

Indivisible Connecticut; Citizens Impeachment; Progressive Victory; NASW Pace; Sunrise Movement New Haven
