Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

As a lifelong resident of Wichita, I understand the needs facing our community. In fact, I was born and raised right in the heart of the 105th district on Hazelwood Lane and attended and still attend St. Francis of Assisi Catholic church. I work in our community as an account executive with one of the nation’s largest distributor of facility supplies.

I believe I can make a difference for the people of the 105th and the state of Kansas. My background in business and my experience in working with the legislature to pass a law after my son was killed in a hit-and-run accident, have equipped me well to hit the ground running in Topeka to tackle some of the most important issues facing Kansas today. I come from a very large family – so I understand the pressures put on families and the challenges they face while they pursue their dreams. My faith and my family are the most important things in my life, and they drive my system of beliefs and my priorities.

Kansas doesn’t need career politicians-they need leaders with strong ties to the local community. I work for a company that puts me in touch with local businesses both large and small. My husband and I also own a small business. At the end of day, we need people in Topeka that truly understand the consequences of government on firms and families. I do and that’s why I am running.

If you elect me, I will work as hard for you every day as I did to change the law to honor my son and everyone affected by hit-and-run drivers.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Reduce the Property Tax Burden on HomeownersEliminate Wasteful Spending to Deliver a Balanced BudgetGraduate Students College and Career-Ready

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I am passionate about lowering taxes to benefit Kansas families, generating economic growth and jobs, supporting strong educational outcomes, and government spending and accountability.

What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?

I believe I have many qualities that will make me a successful office holder. I was born in the 105th district, have always gone to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, and have lived in North West Wichita all of my life. I know what this district needs, and I know my tenacious work ethic and passion for real results can deliver on those needs.

What is the first bill you would introduce if elected?

The first legislation that I ever worked to introduce was before I had filed for office. After my son, Levi, passed in a hit-and-run accident, I went to Topeka to get to work and right a wrong. There was a loophole in Kansas Law that allowed offenders to receive less penalty for fleeing the scene of a crime than if they were charged with manslaughter while DUI. This is what happened to my son, Levi. I went to Topeka and passed Levi's law so that no other Kansas family would have to experience that discrepancy as we did.
