In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
Jessica Bailey has spent two terms running the Porter County Clerk's office — payroll, public records, and clean elections, handled accurately and on time. The Association of Indiana Counties named her Clerk of the Year, and her office earned a national award for election administration from the U.S. Election Assistance Commission.
Now she's running for Comptroller because Indiana's money should serve Indiana communities. She'll bring that same standard statewide: every dollar accounted for, every payment on time — a clearer Indiana, accountable to Hoosiers.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Transparency You Can See ★
Hoosiers deserve to see how their tax dollars are spent.
The Comptroller's office runs the state's transparency portal, where anyone can look up vendor payments, contracts, and public salaries. Jessica will turn it into a tool Hoosiers actually use — easier to search, in plain language, and kept current — so you can see how our tax money is being spent.Experience You Can Count On ★
The Comptroller pays more than 33,000 state workers, pays the state's bills, and funds every county, city, town, and school.
Jessica spent two terms running the Porter County Clerk's office — payroll, public records, and clean elections, done right. Named Clerk of the Year and recognized nationally for election administration, she'll bring that standard statewide: every dollar accounted for, every payment on time.Local Communities First ★
The Comptroller decides when your school district, county, and town receive the state funding they depend on.
Indiana's money should serve Indiana communities — schools, roads, public safety, county services, and elections. As county clerk, Jessica has been on the receiving end of the state system, so she knows what a late or incorrect distribution does to a community budget. Every dollar should be tracked clearly and arrive on time.
