In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

My name is Jermaine Decker, and I’m running as an independent because I believe Washington should answer to the people, not political parties or special interests. Before Washington asks for more of your trust, your vote, or your tax dollars, it needs to earn that trust back. My first priority is fighting corruption, because if the system itself is broken, no new policy will truly serve the American people. I stand firmly on the Constitution. I believe our constitutional rights are fundamental and I will defend them without compromise. It’s time to restore accountability, put power back into the hands of the people, and make everyday essentials more affordable. I’m not running to become a career politician. I’m running to restore accountability, put power back into the hands of the people, and remind Washington that government works for the people, not the other way around.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Accountability. it is time that we do people draw a line in demand accountability of corrupt politicians, and their policies that seek to kill the American dreamwe need to step away from the two party system. They are just two sides of the same coin. We need to come together as the American people with one unified voice the hate speech from the left and the right needs to stop. It is doing nothing but causing a divide in this nation. a nation divided is easily controlled or conqueredWhat representation means. We need to start electing candidates that truly represent the interest of the people they serve. Not electing folks that will just be bought out and be the governments puppets. A representative at least to be someone who’s able to talk to all their represent and is willing to stand up for them and stand up to the federal government on their behalf

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

The right to privacy. It is our God giver right to have privacy along with every other right the constitution gives us not just a constitution with the rights that God himself a given us, There is no room for flock cameras I could track innocent civilians every move in the United States and in Iowa and district 4. It’s just shows the growing of government encroachment on our rights

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Honesty and Faith

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

To represent the people they were elected to represent. Meaning being engaged with the constituents

What legacy would you like to leave?

That I helped return power back to the people. And was a load active voice for the people of Iowa

Do you believe that compromise is necessary or desirable for policymaking?

I believe compromise is necessary unless it has to deal with our freedom and our rights, privacy or what the constitution laid out for us that was bestowed upon us by God
