In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

Full Time fourth generation farmer with the experience and qualifications needed to lead the department of agriculture. I’ve lobbied in D.C. and in Columbia helping spearhead the 2016 Farm Aid Fund and recruited an international business to South Carolina and started a contract that now provides $5 million to local farmers in our state. I’ve done all this as a farmer and not a politician and have done the work that the commissioner should be doing. No other candidate has my track record of helping out state.

I have seen our needs every day and have solutions to help return to locally healthy grown food that keeps our family safe and supporters SC farmers and businesses, I am also going to support our logging industry with alternative uses of our timber to support the industry that is in need of help.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

I am a full time farmer, I am not a politician or establishment but am running because I have to. Our SC department of agriculture needs a leader who has lived it, one who has worked the land, understands agriculture and can speak the languageWe have to return to local. We have the ability to grow most of our food in state, but unfair regulations and red tape keeps farmers and businesses from being able to sell their crops to their neighbors and we are importing the majority of the food consumers buy everyday and send the money out of state.I understand business, not just from my B.S. Business Administration degree from USC but from owning and managing our farm. I have seen the struggle of the farming and timber industry in our state, it’s our number one industry and I am running to help save it. We have lost 13 wood mills and our only soybean crushing plant all during the current administration, who has had no vision for the future and we are in need of a real leader.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Food safety and security through local grown, local owned

Land and Water Resources protection against Data Centers and Solar Panels
