Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
Hello everyone in Congressional District
CA -17
My name is Jennie Ha Phan. I’m a biotech company retired accountant, and I’m running for Congress in California’s 17th District.
Like many of you, my family fled communism in Vietnam with nothing but hope and faith in the American dream. We came here searching for freedom, and we found it—but not without sacrifice, not without hard work, and not without the values that held us together: family, freedom, and foundation.
Those values built our lives—and now, they’re under attack.
I see a generation of young Vietnamese Americans who feel lost in a country that’s forgetting what made it great. I see students taught to resent the very freedoms our families risked everything for. And I see politicians who’ve never had to work a day outside of Washington making decisions that hurt working families like ours.
So I’m stepping up—not as a career politician, but as a citizen and a proud Vietnamese American who knows what’s at stake.
I want our children to grow up in a country that values hard work, that honors parents, that secures its borders, and that tells the truth about freedom.
This campaign is about more than me. It’s about us—and the next generation we’re called to lead. If we don’t show them what courage looks like, who will?
Let’s remind them where we came from—and show them where we’re going.
Thank you, and God bless you all.
