Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
Jason Ickes was born in Grand Rapids Michigan and enlisted in the Army's delayed entry program in 2002 at the age of 17 a year after the terrorist attacks on 9/11/2001. While serving Jason was stationed in Europe and North America, deploying to the Middle east several times and Africa. In 2019 he earned a bachelors in Cyber Security from Norwich University, VT. His career centered around communications, counter terrorism, information technology, and security.

What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?
I have spent my life looking out for others. My continued selfless service and a desire to maximize that impact along with a willingness to learn and adapt.
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
To ensure the integrity of the union through balanced budgets, national security, and government accountability.
What legacy would you like to leave?
It's not about my legacy but restoring the promise our founding fathers gave us to then continue passing on.
What was your very first job? How long did you have it?
Dishwasher, began volunteering on National Guard drill weekends.

Sometimes.
What do you perceive to be the United States' greatest challenges as a nation over the next decade?

Do you believe that two years is the right term length for representatives?
No, candidates are stuck in a perpetual fundraising cycle. They should be elected and only require to campaign if challenged with a minimum of 2 years service and a maximum of 20 years.
What are your thoughts on term limits?
Time limits in a position no more than 20 yrs in the house and 12 yrs in the Senate. Age cap at 75.

I have heard several stories of constituents excessively persecuted by the DOJ.
Do you believe that compromise is necessary or desirable for policymaking?
To an extent as so much as it does not morally or financially bankrupt the nation or compromise the separation of powers constitutional integrity.
The Constitution says that all bills for raising revenue must originate in the House. What role would this power play in your priorities if elected?
Tariff's must be reciprocal at a minimum. Additional penalties or taxes accessed for unlawful acts committed against the nation or it's citizens.
How should the U.S. House use its investigative powers?
To ensure the bureaucratic state doesn't abuse it's powers and to keep states from defrauding each other and the Union.
