In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I’m running to bring a prosecutor’s approach to our Minnesota Legislature. Throughout my personal and professional life, I’ve seen the best in law enforcement, public education, and unions. I will fight for these Minnesota bulwarks to protect, provide, and progress our community values.
Minnesota needs new statutes to ensure offenders are not escaping justice, new ways of ensuring public education funding gets to teachers and classrooms, and new means of safeguarding the income of working families and employers. I’m willing and able to fight for our community—for the safety and prosperity of Minnesota District 34A.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Keeping Our Communities Safe:
As a prosecutor, I've spent my career holding violent criminals accountable while working alongside law enforcement, victims, and community partners.
I support:
-Strengthening online protections for children.
-Giving law enforcement and prosecutors the tools they need to keep violent offenders off our streets.
-Strong penalties for repeat violent offenders and criminal vehicular homicide.
-Expanding mental health crisis response teams so police can focus on criminal activity.
-Investing in probation, rehabilitation, and treatment programs that reduce repeat offenses and help people successfully reenter society.
Public safety isn't about choosing between accountability and compassion. We need both.Investing in Great Public Schools:
Minnesota's public schools are one of our state's greatest strengths.
I believe every child deserves an excellent education regardless of their ZIP code, and every educator deserves the support they need to succeed.
I will work to:
-Keep public education dollars in public schools.
-Support the Educator Group Insurance Program to help recruit and retain excellent teachers and school staff.
-Support parents as partners in their children's education through active local school boards and public engagement.
-Address teacher shortages by strengthening recruitment, retention, and professional support for educators.
Strong schools create stronger communities.Supporting Working Families:
Minnesota succeeds when working families succeed.
I believe people who work hard should be able to afford housing, raise a family, and retire with dignity.
I support:
-Investing in roads, bridges, broadband, and other infrastructure that creates good-paying jobs and supports long-term economic growth.
-Protecting Paid Family and Medical Leave.
-Strong protections for workers and the freedom to organize.
-A tax system structured to ensure where the wealthiest pay their fair share.
Economic growth should benefit everyone, not just those at the very top.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Safe Communities. Strong Schools. Good Jobs.
As a prosecutor, Army veteran, father of three, and longtime public servant, I approach every issue with the same principle: lead with integrity and do what works.
I'm running for the Minnesota House because I believe government should focus on the issues that matter most to working families: keeping our communities safe, preparing our kids for the future, lowering everyday costs, protecting our natural resources, and making sure everyone who works hard has the opportunity to build a good life.
